Windies set for action

West Indies are hoping to get their tour of England under way at last on Sunday, on the scheduled second afternoon of three at Hove.

After more overnight rain, following Saturday's washout, it was announced that play could get under way at 1.40pm if the weather stayed dry.

West Indies are still without three of their 15-man squad, delayed in transit, and were down to a bare XI because of Fidel Edwards' back complaint.

England wicketkeeper Matt Prior and spinner Monty Panesar have been selected in a Sussex team led by Chris Nash.

The prospect of a second successive washout began to grow, as sporadic drizzle fell.

Plans for the toss to take place at 12.45pm were shelved - and instead, after an inspection, it was announced umpires George Sharp and Paul Pollard were due to take their next look at conditions at 2pm.
