Rain was the dominant theme in the Friends Life t20 as only two of the five fixtures produced a result, with Derbyshire and Surrey winning.
Derbyshire claimed a 17-run victory over Lancashire at the County Ground having made 118 for five in 11.3 overs, replying to Lancashire's 168 for six, before the weather intervened.
Wes Durston made a swift 31 off 16 balls while Ross Whitely added 24 off 16 for the hosts.
Lancashire got 46 off 35 from Steven Croft and 34 off 21 from Stephen Moore.
At Lord's, Surrey took a 28-run victory over Middlesex in another rain-shortened match.
Surrey recovered from 32 for four to post a final score of 149 for four from their 20 overs - indebted to unbeaten scores of 54 from Gary Wilson and 53 from Matthew Spriegal.
Middlesex were only afforded 16 overs in which to reply and fell short as they made 99 for eight, the best showing a 36 from Paul Stirling.
Northamptonshire had reached 70 for three, including 41 off 29 balls from Kyle Coetzer, before their match against Glamorgan was abandoned without a result.
No play was possible at all between Sussex and Hampshire at Hove, a second consecutive washout for Sussex following disappointment against Kent on Tuesday.
It was also a washout in Bristol between Gloucestershire and Somerset.
