Wolves keep Eagles grounded

Defending champions Newcastle Eagles couldn't close the gap on BBL leaders Leicester Riders after suffering a 88-73 defeat at Worcester Wolves.

The Eagles could have moved within two points of Leicester but Arturas Masiulis and Micah Williams led the way with 20 points apiece for the Wolves.

Newcastle led after the first quarter and a win for either side was still up for grabs as the teams were tied 59-all after the third but Worcester finished strongly.
