Wolves win, Eagles soar
The Worcester Wolves and Newcastle Eagles strengthened their positions as the BBL Championship's top two with wins on Sunday evening.
Zaire Taylor poured in 30 points as leaders Worcester beat the Cheshire Phoenix 105-94 for their second win in as many nights.
That kept them four points ahead of Newcastle, who marked player-coach Fab Flournoy's BBL-record 541st appearance with a 74-66 success against the Glasgow Rocks, Malik Cooke with 20 points.
And title rivals the Leicester Riders slipped up, losing 91-86 to the 10th-placed Manchester Giants after four late free throws from David Aliu, who finished with 28 points.
The Durham Wildcats beat the winless Birmingham Knights 103-70 while the London Lions won 96-66 against Surrey United.
