Worthington hails away display

Nigel Worthington was impressed with his side's ability to stick at it as they pulled off a shock 2-1 win at promotion-chasing Fleetwood.

Wes Fletcher struck an injury-time winner for the Minstermen to end a five-game unbeaten run for Graham Alexander's side, coming after substitute Mikael Mandron had cancelled out Conor McLaughlin's own goal.

Worthington said: "To come here and get three points is just a great result.

"We've done what we're good at and we've shown if we keep to our strengths we can get a good result.

"We played some very good football, despite the conditions.

"The winner is a great example. It's good play down the left, we've worked it into the box and whoever gets on the end of that it's the winning goal.

"It was a very, very solid away performance."
