Worthington rues performance
Nigel Worthington bemoaned a below-par first-half performance which cost his York side as they fell to a 2-1 defeat at Bury.
Anton Forrester, after just 38 seconds, and Nathan Cameron put the Shakers two-nil ahead inside the opening 19 minutes.
And although York substitute Michael Coulson pulled one back, the hosts hung on to give David Flitcroft his first win as Bury boss and leapfrog York in the League Two table.
Worthington said: "The first half was one to forget.
"The first goal was conceded far too easily, inside 45 seconds, so we got off to a bad start.
"The keeper's put his hand up for the second goal, it was a straightforward save, so then we were on the back foot.
"Quite a few had a bad day at the office in the first 45. I had to do something at half-time so I made two changes.
"Second half you're looking for character, for strength, and to be fair to them I thought we had a real good go at Bury.
"We created chances and got the goal but in any game, no matter what league you're in, you can't start like we started."
