Worthy happy to share goals

York boss Nigel Worthington is happy to see his side's goals continue to be shared out among his players.

Wes Fletcher currently leads the club's goalscoring charts with 13, while fellow forwards Ryan Bowman and Ryan Jarvis have scored eight and nine respectively this season.

"The strikers have got about 30 between them and that's a big factor," Worthington said. "If everybody is chipping in it's very healthy for the team.

"If you rely too heavily on one player to get the goals you run the risk of those goals drying up through loss of form or injury."

Michael Coulson was on target in recent wins against Exeter and AFC Wimbledon and midfielder Josh Carson scored his fifth goal of the season in the weekend win against Wycombe, which lifted the Minstermen level on points with Southend, who occupy the last play-off spot.

"John McCombe has scored a couple recently as well and so have our midfielders, so long may it continue," added Worthington, whose side have won six and drawn two of their last eight league matches.
