Sofia Arvidsson's run in the Kremlin Cup came to an end as Caroline Wozniacki came through three sets to make the final.
The unseeded Swede, who saw off Marion Bartoli and Maria Kirilenko in earlier rounds in Moscow, pushed the Dane all the way on Saturday before going down 6-3 6-7 (4-7) 6-4.
Wozniacki, 22, looked in control after comfortably taking the first set, only for the world No 46 to hit back by edging the second set tie-breaker but ran out of steam in the closing stages.
Top-seeded Australian Samantha Stosur will battle it out with Ana Ivanovic for the right to face Wozniacki in Sunday's final.
