Yates: Cheltenham opener tough
Cheltenham boss Mark Yates admits a trip to promotion-hopefuls Bury is a tricky start to his side's League Two campaign.
The Shakers have added the likes of Shwan Jalal, Ryan Lowe and Nicky Adams to their squad as they build for a return to League One and that test for the Robins will be followed by a Capital One Cup tie with Brighton and their new boss Sami Hyypia.
"It's a tough start but one we are looking forward to," Yates told the club's official website.
"Bury will be a team spending money and recruiting to win promotion so it is a really tough start. Gigg Lane is a really nice pitch and I am sure David Flitcroft will have them playing good football.
"I'm massively excited about the Brighton game. They have a new manager and they have played a good possession game over the last few years. I've seen quotes from the manager that he wants more penetration and end product so it'll be a good test for us."
Meanwhile Yates confirmed that the club are in negotiations with potential signings and he hopes to have "three or four more over the line" at the start of next week.
