Young guns excite Elsworth

David Elsworth will be taking his strongest ever team of juveniles to Royal Ascot next week.

Justice Good, already a three-times winner, will run in the Coventry Stakes on the opening afternoon, but the Newmarket handler will also be represented by a clutch of other speedy youngsters.

Justice Well is likely to take his chance in the Chesham, the Jeff Smith-owned Merdon Castle will run in the Windsor Castle and Arabian Queen is on course for the Queen Mary.

"It was a bit of a surprise when Justice Well won on his debut at Newmarket," said Elsworth.

"Don't get me wrong, I expected him to run a nice race, but he only really ran because the ground on the July course was beautiful that day and I thought it would do him good and bring him on.

"I thought he'd have that run then we'd go and win a maiden, but he ran above expectations.

"He qualifies for the Chesham so he may as well run.

"Merdon Castle, who won at Kempton and was then second to one of Richard Hannon's (Kool Kompany), will run in the Windsor Castle.

"Arabian Queen is very speedy and she'll go for the Queen Mary, which could be a good race this year."
