Zakopalova reaches final
Klara Zakopalova knocked out top seed Carla Suarez-Navarro to reach the final of the Brasil Tennis Cup.
Suarez-Navarro survived a scare against Alexandra Dulgheru in the quarter-finals, where she lost the first set before progressing through, but she was not so fortunate in the semi-finals as third seed Zakopalova claimed a 6-3 3-6 6-2 triumph.
The Czech will now face the second-seeded Garbine Muguruza in Saturday's final after she eased past Yaroslava Shvedova of Kazakhstan 6-2 6-3.
Zakopalova, who closed out the match with an ace on match point, told wtatennis.com: "Overall I think I played one of my best matches of the year against Carla today.
"I just lost to her in Fed Cup three weeks ago and I knew what to expect, and I knew I had to play well."
