Zarate future still uncertain
Mauro Zarate is happy to stay at Lazio but could leave if the club decide to sell him, according to the Argentine forward's agent.
It had been thought that Zarate wanted to move on and agent Luis Ruzzi was recently quoted as saying he was 'at war' with Lazio president Claudio Lotito over the club's hefty valuation.
Ruzzi admits he has held talks with Genoa regarding a possible switch, while Sunderland and Besiktas have also been linked with the former Birmingham City man.
However, Ruzzi is happy for Lazio to decide what the future holds for Zarate, and insists his client would be prepared to stay for the remainder of his contract.
He told calciomercato.it: "There isn't any market news and our position is clear: we are ready to continue together with the club.
"Mauro has another year-and-a-half contract with Lazio and we want to stay, unless we find a good solution.
"Rumours about Genoa, Besiktas and Sunderland? There have been contacts with some clubs and it is true that I met the (Genoa) president Enrico Preziosi, but it is up to the clubs to find an agreement.
"We'll see what happens."
