Sugababes unleash profanity-filled rant

Sugababes

Sugababes took a foul-mouthed swipe at their detractors earlier this week (13 May) on Twitter (twitter.com/Sugababes_Real).

The three-piece were responding to a comedy cartoon video posted on YouTube that pits the 'babes against Girls Aloud. Clearly irked at certain lines featured in the skit - such as, "The Sugababes are dull and have no personalities" - the trio let rip.

They wrote: "Oh we just wanted to give a big two fingers and a 'kiss our ass' to the sad prat who made that YouTube video about us against GA.

"Get the f*** over it. We like what they do. We love what we do. We are a completely different band. Who gives a f*** if we've had two line-up changes. Even more reason to show us support and respect because we are still surviving!"

The tirade continued: "We have had nearly 10 years in this industry with seven albums, five No.1s, huge sales across Europe, not only in the UK. We write. Sing live. We have never sold ourselves out to the media, who we thank for all their support so far, but it's never been about that.

"We're about the music. Love and support to all the up-and-coming girl bands. But there will only ever be one Sugababes and even though the last album wasn't a huge hit (lol), who gives a s***. We are not giving up. And we still remain, according to overall sales, the biggest girlband from the UK!"

Sugababes are currently working on their seventh album.

The comments made on the site by Orange are honest, this is a value Orange holds true and if Sugababes had not said it then it would not be printed. Go Orange for being honest and true, Shame on Sugebabes for being so foul mouthed. Great example to younger ones. tut tut.

The headline Orange used is mis-leading; Sugababes never haven't had some catfight with Girls Aloud. Instead, Sugababes were just responding to a video. However, I really think that Sugababes aren't showing a good example here. Their fans are mainly pre-teenage/young teenage girls and they respond with such foul language! If they think they're so high and mighty, they shouldn't really feel the need to respond because they know 'better.' I used to love Sugababes and then I grew up.

As a 59 year old Journalist myself I was disturbed by the way that Orange reported this item. The headline makers should have concentrated on the inappropriate language used and not inferred that their comments were actually aimed at the other band. We all have a right of reply in this country but maybe their PR people could give them some advice as to how to defend themselves without resorting to language that certainly does them no favours.

i agree with "anonymous from london"; ORANGE tried to make it look like a bi*ch fight between the 2 bands and that is not the case, they have a problem bieng slated which will obviously prevoke a response. SHAME ON YOU ORANGE FOR TRYING TO MISLEAD PEOPLE ABOUT YOUR CONTENT :-( :-(

Sadly "Foul-Mouthed" is now the norm, it appears to be even "cool" so who's shocked??? Gordon Ramsey has even made a career from it! Sad but true!
