Frankie, Una, Mollie, Vanessa and Rochelle continue their run of tub-thumping chart botherers with the follow-up to their cover of Depeche Mode's 'Just Can't Get Enough'.
But the bad news is that while 'Work' is perfectly serviceable r'n'b/pop fare, compared to the addictive likes of 'Up' and 'If This Is Love', it's certainly the most generic offering from the girls so far.
Sounding more American than ever, the track has the feel of an aerobics tune specially written for the Pussycat Dolls. "Work! Work!", they chant with a spirited athleticism that might even scare off Nicole Scherzinger and pals.
Like Girls Aloud and the Spice Girls before them, what originally made The Saturdays such bright lights in the world of girlbands was their kooky UK vibe. Let's just hope they ditch the US-lite sound soon and get back to the unique perkiness we all love.
