Getting your contacts back is easy

Get your latest contacts back onto your new phone

If your phone has just been lost or stolen, please call us straightaway so that we can put a block on your SIM to stop anyone using it otherwise please follow the steps below. Contact us >>

1. First, make sure your new phone is working and can do all the normal stuff you'd expect of it - like make calls, send texts, go online, etc.

2. Now check the menu. Quite a few new phones already have Contacts Backup on their menu.

If yours does, choose the 'Contacts Backup installed' option below. Otherwise, select 'not sure' option for more instructions.

1. Run Contacts Backup to restore

By selecting 'Contacts Backup' on your phone's menu, it should start automatically. If it doesn't, just select the 'restore' option. You'll be connected to the Orange website and your latest contacts will be restored your new phone. This could take a couple of minutes.

2. You're back in contact!

Once all your contacts have been restored, we'll let you know by text. It's as simple as that.

Not sure?

1. Text 'restore' to 247

Text 'restore' to 247. We'll text you back within a few minutes. Select the link in the text Orange World.

2. Orange World: download app or send settings

At Orange World, you'll be told if your new phone is compatible with Contacts Backup. If it is (and most are) the onscreen instructions will either ask you to download the Contacts Backup application or have some settings texted to your phone.

3. Run a backup

Follow the instructions carefully to run a restore - or 'synchronise' if your phone happens to be a bit older. Your contacts will be restored to your new phone from the Orange website. This could take a couple of minutes if you've got lots of friends.

4. You're back in contact!

We'll text you when your contacts have been restored. It's as simple as that.
