commentary

Over 11. 12 runs. Bowler: Jade Dernbach. South Africa: 90/5(rr 8.18)

Dernbach to Morkel. Slower length ball, outside off stump on the back foot cutting, well timed to third man for 2 runs, fielded by Swann. England win this 3rd and final Twenty20 match against South Africa by a margin of 28 runs. South Africa put up a brave effort but Kieswetter and Buttler were the difference. England will view this as a morale lifting victory heading into the Twenty20 World Cup and in the process, tie this series against the South Africans. Briggs performed well with the ball and his figures are a fairly harsh reflection of his spell, he was pitted against Amla. Tim Bresnan fully justifies his figures and will be pleased to have marked his return to the side with such a performance. Jos Buttler was superb with the bat with several jaw-dropping shots and the England selectors will be happy to have shown such loyalty to the young man and will no doubt hope this leads to similar things in the subcontinent during the World Cup. England won this game convincingly and in truth, the writing was on the wall for South Africa after their bowling performance.
