Somerset were denied a win over Nottinghamshire in the County Championship as rain and an injury to Steve Kirby ensured a draw at Trent Bridge.
While the hosts lost four wickets on their way to 169, two heavy showers saw the players off for two and a half hours and an unbeaten fifth-wicket partnership of 60 between James Taylor and Chris Read was enough to see stumps drawn shortly after 1700.
With Nottinghamshire picking up no bonus points from their poor display with bat and ball, they fell back to second in the Division One table - a point behind Warwickshire.
The home team began the day on 47 without loss, needing a further 236 to avoid an innings defeat, and were given a boost before the start of play with the news that a hamstring strain would prevent Kirby from bowling.
The onus was on all-rounder Peter Trego to lead the attack and the 30-year-old responded with the early wicket of former Somerset opener Neil Edwards, caught behind by Craig Kieswetter for 26 after edging a ball that left him off the seam.
That ended an opening partnership of 58, with Alex Hales (29) falling in the next over from Craig Meschede, trying to force a lifting delivery from the seamer and only succeeding in edging to first slip.
England hopeful Samit Patel did not look comfortable in the conditions and only made 11 before he played across the line to Trego to be dismissed lbw before lunch.
A lengthy rain delay wiped out the afternoon session but spinner George Dockrell still had time to bowl Michael Lumb (23) through the gate before Taylor (38 not out) and Read (33 not out) closed out the match.
