match report

Glamorgan's Friends Life t20 game against Gloucestershire Gladiators was abandoned without a ball bowled because of rain at the Swalec Stadium.

The umpires - Peter Willey and Steve Gale - called the game off at 7pm, an hour after the scheduled start. Both sides take a point each.

It is the second of the Dragons' four games which has fallen victim to the rain - their first game at Northamptonshire was a wash-out at Northamptonshire in their first game.

Glamorgan had planned to hold a minute's silence at the start of the Gladiators clash in memory of Surrey batsman Tom Maynard, a former Welsh county player, who was killed by a London Underground train in Wimbledon on Monday. However, that did not go ahead either.

That was after the Dragons' previous home game against Worcestershire Royals on Wednesday had been postponed until July 3 as a mark of respect for 23-year-old Maynard's death.
