Kolkata's first innings wasn't easy on the eye but 140 turned out to be a good total on a tough batting pitch. Tendulkar and Karthik batted nicely but couldn't accelerate after making starts, and from then on the spinners dominated the innings. Excellent captaincy from Gambhir kept the Mumbai Indians on the back foot, and Narine was clinical, taking three wickets with his last seven balls to finish the innings.

Malinga had no real choice there, he had to try and hit a boundary, and unfortunately he just couldn't find the middle of the blade with that shot. Narine will bowl the last over of the day as Kolkata look to wrap things up.
