Royal Challengers Bangalore win by 21 runs
| Royal Challengers Bangalore | 215-1 (20 ovs) |
|---|---|
| Delhi Daredevils | 194-9 (20 ovs) |
Over 20. 8 runs. Bowler: Prasanth Parameswaran. Delhi Daredevils: 194/9(rr 9.70)
OUT! Caught. Parameswaran to Yadav. Length ball, outside off stump on the front foot driving, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to long on, fielded by Tiwary. So Prasanth gets a wicket with the final ball of the innings to finish with impressive figures of 3-30. It's been an impressive win for RCB who were better than their opponents in all three disciplines today. The match will be remembered for Chris Gayle's outrageous hitting, but special mention must also go to Virat Kohli for his superb knock, as well as the side's fielding as a whole - all 9 wickets were out caught to emphasise this aspect. Despite a brave fightback from Ross Taylor and, to a lesser extent, Andre Russell the target was always just too far out of reach for Delhi and they were consistently behind the 8-ball from the start of the innings. A good win for RCB that keeps the table interesting going into the final 5 matches.
Parameswaran to Yadav. Slower ball back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot Slog, missed to wicketkeeper for no runs, fielded by de Villiers.

OUT! Caught. Parameswaran to Russell. Slower length ball, outside off stump on the front foot Slog, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to long off, fielded by Kohli. Clever bowling from Prasanth ends the Russell cameo. Barring no balls and wides, the game is up now for Delhi.

SIX! Kumar to Russell. Back of a length, outside off stump on the back foot pulling, mis-timed in the air under control over deep mid wicket for 6 runs. Russell's not going down without a fight - he doesn't quite get hold of this but such is his power that it still clears the rope.

OUT! Caught. Khan to Ojha. Half volley, middle stump on the front foot driving, mis-timed in the air uncontrolled to long on, fielded by Tiwary. Ojha was looking to go big but couldn't get hold of it and the pressure of Zaheer's over has told - this has been a brilliant over from him.

The umpires call for drinks again and incredibly, this game is still in the balance. You have to admire Delhi's resilience to reach this stage with a chance of winning - Ross Taylor has been defiance personified as he battles to keep his side in touch with the required rate. If they can have one big over, you would fancy them to pull off what would be an amazing victory.

Royal Challengers Bangalore win by 21 runs
| Royal Challengers Bangalore | 215-1 (20 ovs) |

| Delhi Daredevils | 194-9 (20 ovs) |
Chris Gayle smashed a thrilling, unbeaten 128 as Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Indian Premier League leaders Delhi Daredevils by 21 runs.
On the day the West Indies toiled in Test action at Lord's, former captain Gayle was at his imperious best in the IPL.
Gayle's knock occupied 62 balls, 13 of which he hit for six with seven more going to the boundary.
He shared a stand worth 204 with Virat Kohli, who played second fiddle despite scoring 73 not out in 53 balls.
That saw play-off chasing RCB to 215 for one, the highest total of this year's tournament to date.
Delhi made a decent fist of chasing such an imposing target but lost too many wickets to set up a truly exciting finale.
Venugopal Rao, with 36 in 24 balls, and Ross Taylor, who bludgeoned 55 in just 26 deliveries, did their bit in chipping away at a formidable required-rate, while Andre Russell hit three of his 15 deliveries for six.
But Zaheer Khan struck three times, as did Prasanth Parameswaran, to sufficiently disrupt the momentum.
In the day's other match, Kings XI Punjab eased to a six-wicket victory over Chennai Super Kings at Dharmasala to keep their play-off prospects afloat.
Praveen Kumar, Azhar Mahmood and Parvinder Awana each took two wickets as Kings XI kept their opponents down to a modest 120 for seven in the first innings before skipper Adam Gilchrist eased them over the line with 21 balls remaining.
