Bruno

1hr 22mins
Starring: Sacha Baron Cohen, Clifford Banagale, Gustaf Hammarsten
Directed by: Larry Charles
The plot: Sacha Baron Cohen dresses to impress and distress as his ultra-gay and flamboyant fashionista from Klagenfurt in Austria. Channel 4
"Brüno is thrillingly funny, establishing Sacha Baron Cohen as a comedian willing to go further than any other to show us what needs to be shown. His masochism is daunting and you wonder if there is a more heartless, fearless and brilliant satire within him waiting to be born."
The Guardian
"Bruno's hoaxes certainly expose some breathtakingly shabby bigotry and ignorance, and he hilariously makes some prejudiced idiots look thoroughly silly. It's an unimpeachably progressive cake he's got there - but munched down with some outrageously queeny camp gags on the side."
The Sun
"There are several ways you can deal with the unbearably embarrassing situations in this cross between The Day Today and extreme Candid Camera. Either place your hands in front of your face, glance at your squirming neighbour or gawk in open-mouthed shock. Alternatively, you could laugh so hard you won't be sure what will split first - your head, sides or 'kugelsack'."
