The plot: Dr Margaret Matheson and her trusty assistant Tom Buckley probe paranormal phenomena and exposing the trickery behind supposedly wondrous occurrences. Out of the blue, spoon-bending blind psychic Simon Silver comes out of retirement and embarks on a lucrative theatre tour. Tom feels passionately that Margaret should debunk Silver but she urges caution. "Stay away from him. He's dangerous," she warns with good reason.

what the others say
Empire
Even with flashes of invention and the game cast, it would take a wilier showman than Cortes to truly impress with this shabby bag of tricks.
The Guardian
The performances are uniformly solid and Cortes is skilled at drawing out tension. However in the end, the finale is grandiose and tedious.
Total Film
A starry cast, curious premise and well-crafted shocks make for an ambitious thriller that ekes - and eeks - out the tension to its iffy finale.
