The plot: Insurance salesman Dodge is abandoned by his wife Linda in the days leading up to a deadly asteroid on Earth. He prepares to spend his final days alone until vinyl-obsessed English rose Penny opens his eyes to the possibility of love. With time running out, Dodge helps Penny to shake free of the shackles of her boyfriend Owen so that she can fly back home to Britain to be with her family.
