The plot: Sergeant Gerry Boyle presides over his leafy corner of the west coast with a dry sense of humour, entertaining local prostitutes when he is not keeping the peace or acting as a mentor to new cop on the block, Aidan McBride. When Aidan disappears without trace, Gerry investigates at the behest of his protege's fraught wife, Gabriela. As the case develops Gerry crosses paths with FBI agent Wendell Everett, who has ventured to Ireland to crack a cocaine-smuggling ring.
