The plot: Forty-something Pippa moves to a quiet and leafy retirement community with her much older, publisher husband Herb, who has suffered three heart attacks. The Sun
"A strong supporting cast, including stunning Blake Lively as a young Pippa, Julianne Moore, Winona Ryder and Monica Bellucci, do a decent job. But they play self-obsessed, snobby characters who are hard to like. It would have been better if Pippa had kept her life private."
Channel 4
"A woman frees herself from a life of middle-class drudgery, but unfortunately she does it in a shiny suburban world that feels lacking in dramatic weight."
The Guardian
"Wright Penn's dissatisfaction propels her to an affair with a funky neighbour: a heart-sinkingly blank, affectless performance from Keanu Reeves, who has never looked more lobotomised on screen. None of the characters is seeing a shrink, but this story surely has its origins in therapy. A film that is very pleased with itself."
