The plot: In June 1993, teenagers Damien Echols, Jessie Misskelley Jr and Jason Baldwin were arrested for the murders of three eight-year-old boys in West Memphis, Arkansas. The accused asserted their innocence but were found guilty and sentenced to death row or lifetime imprisonment. This documentary chronicles efforts to re-examine the evidence with the benefit of modern forensic science and overturn the convictions.
