90 mins:FULL TIME: SCOTLAND 1-1 MACEDONIA
89 mins:The groans are already ringing out here, and the final whistle may just be met by a cacophony of boos.
89 mins:Adam takes an inswinging corner, but the ball is punched clear by the goalkeeper.
89 mins:Scotland win a corner. This could be their last chance...
89 mins:Adam almost picks out Rhodes with a curled ball across the edge of the box, but Macedonia are keeping their concentration and their focus here.
89 mins:There will be three minutes of added time to play at the end of this half.
88 mins:Ibraimi, who has had a great game, is replaced by Darko Tasevski.
88 mins:A scrappy shot from Pandev threatens to trickle into the back of the net, but McGregor scrambles across just in time to make the save.
86 mins:If you look at the match stats, you can see who wanted a result here today; Macedonia have had nine shots at goal, four on target, compared with five and two respectively from Scotland.
84 mins:Unfortunately for the Scots, Macedonia look like they've settled for a draw here, which is making it really difficult to break them down in midfield.
83 mins:Realistically, knowing the other teams in Scotland's qualifying group, two draws against Serbia and Macedonia simply isn't going to cut the mustard. Scotland have less than seven minutes of normal time to change their fate.
82 mins:Scotland win another corner, this one a very soft one indeed. Maloney takes the corner, and Bogatinov makes a comfortable save from a Naismith header.
81 mins:Scotland win a corner after good work from Hutton. Adam sprints over to take it, and he sends it long towards the head of Caldwell. The defender heads towards goal, but the referee hands the away side a free kick.
79 mins:Berra plays a low ball towards Naismith at the near post, but that's not going to catch Macedonia out. Nearly into the last 10 minutes here at Hampden Park.
77 mins:Sumulikoski is booked for cynically bringing down Forrest.
76 mins:Steven Naismith comes on for Mackie.
76 mins:A cracking delivery from Forrest falls to Rhodes at the far post, but he tries to bundle it in with his back, and the chance goes begging.
74 mins:Rhodes and Mackie are trying to chase down every ball they can, but they need better service in towards their feet in the box. Scotland have the players on the pitch to provide that service, but time is running out here.
72 mins:Scotland appeal for a spot kick after Mackie slips over in the box, but there was nothing wrong with that.
72 mins:What a let-off for Scotland! It looks for all the world like Ivanovski is about to score, but McGregor once again steps off his line to block a goal-bound shot. Sublime goalkeeping.
70 mins:There are just 20 minutes left for Scotland to reach the target set by Levein before these two opening group games of four points. Scotland simply need a goal, and fast.
69 mins:Gligorov is replaced by Velice Sumulikoski.
68 mins:The introduction of Adam and Rhodes has brought a new dynamic to this game, and it's done wonders for the mood of the crowd.
67 mins:Adam wins a free kick on the right wing. It's taken quickly by Caldwell towards Adam, who crosses for Rhodes at the near post, and the striker comes within a matter of inches of putting Scotland in the lead with a diving header.
66 mins:It looks like Scotland will switch to playing a straightforward 4-4-2 now that Rhodes is on.
65 mins:Morrison is replaced by Rhodes, a man who has scored 47 goals in his last 47 games for club and country.
65 mins:Dixon crosses into the box and almost finds the head of Caldwell, but he can't quite reach the ball.
63 mins:It looks like Rhodes is preparing to come on now, much to the delight of the home fans.
62 mins:Again the groans and sighs of frustration ring around the stadium. This isn't a time for panic; there's still plenty of time left in this game for Scotland to take all three points.
60 mins:Vance Sikov is the man to take the free kick, but it blasts off the Scottish wall.
60 mins:Macedonia have a free kick in a decent central position following that foul.
59 mins:Adam picks up a yellow card just minutes after coming on as a sub after a cynical foul on Pandev.
59 mins:The crowd clearly want to see Jordan Rhodes, with his stunning goalscoring record, brought on, but the Scottish fans have to put their faith in the manager here.
57 mins:Miller is replaced by Adam, a decision that brings boos from the crowd.
57 mins:Georgievski comes close to putting Macedonia back in the lead. He sprints into the box and slams a shot at goal, but McGregor gets his angles just right, blocking the shot and making a great save. Seconds later, Ibraimi smacks a stunning effort against the post.
55 mins:Forrest is growing into this game with each passing minute. His movement and pace is second to none out there at the moment.
54 mins:Ibraimi takes a free kick from the right but Berra heads clear for Scotland from deep within the box. Macedonia are just starting to turn the screw a little here once again.
52 mins:Maloney steps up to take the free kick for Scotland. It's a dangerous, floated ball into the box, but Macedonia have enough men back to cover.
51 mins:Pandev also picks up a booking for complaining to the referee.
51 mins:Scotland win a free kick on the left after a handball from Nikola Gligorov, who picks up a booking for protesting.
49 mins:Hutton almost finds himself in with a scoring opportunity at the far post as Scotland pour forward in numbers, but Popov nicks in just in time to clear for the away side.
48 mins:Macedonia are edging possession, but Scotland are looking the more incisive at the moment. They just need to carry on improving their final product and movement in and around the box.
47 mins:Hutton is finding plenty of space down the right behind Hasani, who has looked poor since coming on in the first half. This time the ball eventually falls to Dixon, whose shot from range is saved comfortably by Bogatinov.
46 mins:An industrious run down the right from Hutton ends in a neat pass out to Forrest. His ball into the box is almost met by Mackie at the far post, but the cross has slightly too much height on it.
45 mins:The second half is now underway, with Scotland left with plenty of work to do in this game.
45 mins:HALF TIME: SCOTLAND 1-1 MACEDONIA
44 mins:Mackie forces the goalkeeper to smother the ball at the near post after a scuffed shot almost falls to Miller a yard from goal.
44 mins:What a time to score! Levein looks one very relieved man, and the dynamics of this game have been altered significantly, as Hutton fires a first-time ball into the box after a pacey run down the right.
44 mins:The atmosphere has changed completely here, and Scotland now look in the mood for a second goal.
42 mins:GOAL: SCOTLAND 1-1 MACEDONIA: That man MILLER brings the stadium to its feet, the striker connecting with a lovely square ball from Mackie, taking one touch to slam the ball past Bogatinov.
42 mins:Forrest takes on not one, but two, Macedonia defenders, and crosses towards Mackie. His run is just a little too fast for the flight of the ball, however, and Macedonia can clear. That's woken the crowd up!
41 mins:Scotland have lacked that threat from wide areas, those pacey runs down the wing and looped balls into the box. That's something they must work on in the second half.
40 mins:Dixon takes the free kick for the Scots, but a header from Christophe Berra fails to cause Macedonia the slightest of problems.
39 mins:Hasani hacks down Hutton on the right wing, and Scotland win a free kick in a promising position.
38 mins:A goal before half time would do wonders for Scotland's confidence, and the atmosphere here in the stadium. At the moment it isn't looking likely, though.
36 mins:Ferhan Hasani replaces the injured Trickovski.
36 mins:Levein is cutting an anxious figure on the touchline, as Trickovski is carried off on a stretcher.
35 mins:Trickovski appears to have picked up a slight muscle strain. That will be a big blow for Macedonia if he has to come off.
33 mins:Muhamed Demiri gives away a silly free kick after a foul on Maloney on the edge of the box. Maloney is the man to take it, but his effort is right down the goalkeeper's throat, Martin Bogatinov punching the ball clear.
31 mins:That chance for Ibraimi seems to have shocked the Scots into life, as they win a corner. Maloney is the man to take it, and Andy Webster spins a header just wide of the far corner. That's better from the home side.
30 mins:Ibraimi comes close to adding a second goal to Macedonia's tally, the lively frontman forcing a desperate save from McGregor, who sprints off his line to block the shot.
28 mins:Scotland win a free kick after a foul on Alan Hutton. A lack of forward movement sees the ball played back to Caldwell and Dixon at the back. This is painful viewing at the moment from a Scottish point of view.
26 mins:Scotland appeal for a spot kick, Mackie colliding with Popov in the box, but that's really clutching at straws.
26 mins:McGregor has extremely foolish there, risking a booking and a penalty. Both players are back up on their feet now, though.
24 mins:McGregor and Mirko Ivanovski clash in the box, the Scotland goalkeeper leaving a dangerous trailing leg, and both players need treatment here.
22 mins:That's a shocker of a challenge. Ibraimi, perhaps seeking revenge for Dixon's earlier tackle, goes in hard and high on the Scot, and is deservedly booked.
22 mins:Mackie plays a delightful ball towards Forrest on the right wing. Forrest taps the ball across the face of goal towards Miller, but Macedonia defend the front post stoically, and the chance goes begging.
21 mins:After a few botched attempts, Scotland finally manage to clear the ball from the corner.
20 mins:Paul Dixon crashes into Ibraimi, and that should be a booking for the Scot. Instead, it's just a free kick for Macedonia, which is taken by Ibraimi when he gets back up to his feet. The ball almost travels all the way through to the goalkeeper, but Dixon takes no chances, hacking the ball out for a corner.
18 mins:Instead, Ibraimi sends another shot towards the Scottish goal. This one is a poor attempt, but the Scottish fans groan in unison.
18 mins:Scotland need something to wake the crowd up a bit, a shot from distance perhaps, or even a crunching tackle in midfield.
16 mins:Agim Ibraimi sends a first-time shot towards goal from range, and that's a lovely effort, the ball flying just wide, but worrying McGregor nonetheless.
14 mins:Something just isn't clicking for Scotland out there; it's early days in this game but their attacking play is predictable and flat, and defensive errors are threatening to put this game beyond their reach already.
13 mins:Forrest, who has had a quiet game so far, heads the ball down towards Morrison in the box, but there are too many players crowding him out, as the ball runs out of play.
11 mins:There's a stunned silence resonating around the ground at the moment, and you can't blame the Scottish fans for being slightly shell-shocked. The defending for that goal was horrendous.
10 mins:GOAL: SCOTLAND 0-1 MACEDONIA: Scotland can't defend like that if they want to reach the World Cup finals in 2014. NIKOLCE NOVESKI sticks a foot out to connect with a low ball into the box, and toe-pokes the ball past Allan McGregor from close range.
8 mins:A drifted ball into the box from the boot of Mackie from the left wing almost falls onto the forehead of Miller, but the ball floats out of play at the last moment.
6 mins:Ivan Trickovski shoots just wide of the post after some terrible defending from Scotland. They left themselves so open there in the box, and that should sound alarm bells in the ears of Levein.
5 mins:Gary Caldwell receives the ball from Miller on his left foot just outside the box and slams an effort towards the top corner. It's always rising, though, and the ball flies into the crowd. The pass from Miller there perhaps wasn't ideal, but still a decent early chance nonetheless.
3 mins:Goran Popov, currently at West Brom on loan, tries to initiate an attack down the left wing, but Scotland have enough men back to clear the danger, James Morrison getting the decisive touch.
1 mins:Scotland have failed to qualify for the last seven major tournaments. Can they buck that trend and reach the 2014 World Cup? A positive result tonight would certainly point them in the right direction.
The game is now underway at Hampden Park, with Scotland kicking us off.
Scotland manager Craig Levein revealed to the press last week that he had set his players a target of at least four points from the opening two games of these World Cup qualifiers. After a bore draw against Serbia, nothing less than a win against Macedonia will do tonight, but the visitors will themselves be hoping for a reaction after slipping to a 1-0 defeat against Croatia last week.
Looking at the team news, Charlie Adam, Steven Naismith and Robert Snodgrass have been replaced in the starting line-up by Shaun Maloney, James Forrest and Jamie Mackie, while Levein sticks with Kenny Miller up front.
