live commentary

90+4 mins: That's full time! A tough old contest which saw Stoke take the lead through Walters with a fine finish from a corner, before O'Brien levelled for the Irons from close range for his first ever Premier League goal. The result sees both sides stay in the same positions, West Ham 7th, level with Arsenal on 19 points, Stoke in 14th. Thanks for following Orange's live commentary and for all your texts, a full report will follow...

90+2 mins: Adam buys a cheap free-kick off Noble out on the left. The delivery's not great and West Ham can gather and break with Taylor. Noble finds Cole in the box but his knock-down has nobody on the end of it.

90 mins: Four minutes are added on as Taylor sends yet another West Ham corner into the six-yard box. Cleared, but another soon follows. It's flicked on by Demel for Reid but he has to twist his neck, can't get much power from eight yards and it's an easy stop for Begovic.

89 mins: Begovic is taking an age with his goalkicks and Allardyce is jibbing away at the fourth official. He has a point - reckon we'll get at least four minutes added on.

88 mins: McCartney does well to get round the back and crosses low from the lefrt looking for Cole or Nolan in the six-yard box, but it's cut out by Begovic before being cleared.

86 mins: Straight swap up front as Carroll's subbed for Cole and he's not happy bunny, effing and jeffing all the way to the touchline and shaking his head. Maiga also makes way for Taylor, back from injury.

83 mins: West Ham hold the ball well, switching wings a few times before a high ball is sent in. It's headed clear to Demel who tees it up on the edge of the box but blasts wide of the right post.

80 mins: Walters thinks he's through after being set free by N'Zonzi but as he bears down on goal the flag goes up.

78 mins: Allardyce makes his first sub, Demel coming on for goalscorer O'Brien.

76 mins: Noble sends a long free-kick into the box but it's headed away and then hoofed to the halfway line. West Ham are preparing to make a change...

73 mins: O'Neil curls a cross into the box but there's nobody home. West Ham are looking the more likely to score but there's still frustration in the stands. Final change for Stoke sees Etherington makes way for Kightly.

71 mins: Walters has a dig from range but it's hopelessly off target.

70 mins: West Ham win their ninth corner of the game but it's easily cleared.

James D, Banbridge: "Andy Carroll to break his duck any minute now!"

68 mins: Nolan's played in down the left of the box but his cross looking for Carroll's cut out and comes off him last for a goalkick to Stoke.

65 mins: Lovely set piece by West Ham. They take a short corner on the left, exchange a triangle of passes which ends in O'Neil curling a ball across the face of goal and just past the right-hand post.

Steve, Stoke: "Refs a bit of a homer and west hams goal well offside"

62 mins: McCartney floats a long ball into the box looking for Carroll but Begovic is first to it. Stoke make a second change, Whelan making way for Palacios.

61 mins: Corner to Stoke on the near side which is cleared at the second attempt.

59 mins: Nolan wants a penalty after climbing all over Shotton and not getting his header on target - nothing doing. West Ham do win a corner, but it comes to nothing.

57 mins: West Ham are dominating now! Carroll gets on the end of a corner from the right, Maiga bids to turn it in from four yards but his shot's blocked, the ball comes out to O'Neil who shoots through a crowded box but it bends way off target and is hacked away.

55 mins: An important block by O'Brien to cut out a low cross hands Stoke a corner, but Etherington's ball in from the left is easily cleared.

54 mins: Tomkins does well to win a corner on the near side for the Irons. Crouch is unchallenged as he heads clear from the middle of the box.

51 mins: The momentum's with West Ham as McCartney has a cross blocked from the left. Nolan then bids to play Carroll in but Huth heads clear.

48 mins: O'BRIEN LEVELS FOR THE IRONS! Diame stumbles through a few challenges and lays the ball off to O'Neil, he crosses from the right and O'Brien - who may be inches offside - blasts high into the net from close range!

47 mins: Great chanced spurned by Nolan! He gets on the end of a left-wing cross but cushions his volley straight at Begovic!

46 mins: Stoke get the second half started playing right to left with no subs to report.

Steve, Stoke: "Gooaarrn stoke looking good for 3 pts for the first time away this the iron look poor up front !"

45+2 mins: That's half time! Stoke haven't won away in the Premier League since January 2nd but they're half way to halting that run thanks to Walters' superb first-time finish from a corner. Use the box on the right to send in your thoughts on the game, and join me for the second half live from 2105.

45 mins: Two minutes to be added on.

43 mins: The home fans found their voice after Stoke's goal as the Irons were pushing for an equaliser, but they've had little to shout about since. Very quiet in the Boleyn Ground.

41 mins: Nolan's in a spot of bother after getting a rap on the shin trying to charge down a clearance by N'Zonzi. He's soon running again though after some treatment.

38 mins: What a piledriver! Stoke play the free-kick to Nzonzi who unleashes a screamer from 22 yards, Jaaskelainen gets nowhere near it and it bounces down off the crossbar and away!

37 mins: Noble's first in the book for a tackle from behind on Walters. Hardly crunching, but he didn't get enough of the ball for ref Foy's liking.

35 mins: Tomkins heads a cross clear, N'Zonzi controls it on his chest and tries an ambitious effort from 25 yards but it bends wide of the right post.

33 mins: Stoke boss Pulis is forced into making an early change - Wilkinson's picked up an injury and uncomfortably walks off VERY slowly, being replaced by Shotton.

31 mins: That looked like a free-kick to me - Carroll's clearly shoved in the back by Cameron right on the edge of the box, but ref Foy saw nothing.

28 mins: Two superb saves by Begovic! The first is from a stinging Nolan drive, beating it out for a corner. That's then sent in from the far side and met by Tomkins, powering a header on target from six yards but the keeper saves at point-blank range! Ah - the whistle's gone anyway as the ball curled out during the delivery.

25 mins: Decent stop by Jaaskelainen. Stoke win a corner on the far side, it's met by Huth who heads it across goal and the keeper claws it away at full stretch.

23 mins: Carroll escapes his markers to get on the end of a right-wing cross but he just fails to time his leap right and sees his weak effort drop into Begovic's grasp.

21 mins: Lovely ball from Diame to set Maiga free down the left, he crosses early but it's cut out and cleared.

18 mins: Good spell of possession for the hosts but there are groans of frustration as West Ham get nowhere near the Stoke box before the ball's lost.

15 mins: Big Sam's stalking the touchline, gnashing away on his chewy. Maiga bids to break through down the left but he's well shepherded and the move breaks down.

13 mins: WALTERS FIRES STOKE AHEAD! City win their first corner, it's sent in low from the near side and Walters gives marker McCartney the slip to bang it home first time from 12 yards! Superb finish!

11 mins: Nervy moment for Begovic as Carroll bids to charge down a clearance but the keeper launches it a fraction before the rampaging striker arrives.

9 mins: Half chance for Crouch as N'Zonzi heads a long ball back across goal to him, but his header at the back stick plops tamely into the arms of Jaaskelainen.

7 mins: Carroll holds the ball up well, as ever, before spreading play wide. The hosts are edging it in the opening skirmishes.

5 mins: West Ham win another corner, this time on the near side, but it's hooked straight into the arms of Begovic.

4 mins: First chance for Stoke as Crouch heads a long diagonal ball into the path of Adam, but his hurried shot from 15 yards is awkward and way over the bar.

2 mins: Maiga wriggles through to the line down the left and crosses looking for Carroll, but it's headed behind for an early corner to the hosts. Shawcross's ball in is headed clear though.

0 mins: The Irons get us under way playing right to left in the first half, usual home kit for the Potters.

1955: The teams emerge to 'Bubbles' as ever, with some top Movember face fuzz on display, notably Peter Crouch. We're just about ready to roll under the lights at the Boleyn Ground.

1930: Evening all, and welcome to Orange's live commentary on Stoke's trip to West Ham. The Potters are looking for their first league win on the road since January 2, while the Irons will reach the dizzy heights of fifth in the Premier League if they bag all three points. Bit of team news for you and West Ham make two changes to the side which beat Newcastle, Yossi Benayoun and Matt Jarvis being replaced by Modibo Maiga and Gary O'Neil. Stoke name same side which beat QPR. I'll bring you live commentary from 2000, but in the mean time use the box on the right to send in your match predictions, and share any bets you've got on tonight. Couple of quid on Nolan 1-0 for me, 25-1...

Jackson Ankrah, Ghana: "Hammers will beat the rugby boys 2-0 maiga to score"

Gee Jay, London: "This has 0-0 written all over it, Shawcross red card and Nolan gets a yellow"

Terry the Southend Hammer: "The mighty hammers to win 3 1 andy caroll to score 3 points in the bag come on you irons x"

Jim up north: "West ham 3 stoke 3 2red cards 6 yellow 3 penalties what a great dream hammers 0 stoke 0"

match report

Joey O'Brien scored his first Premier League goal to cancel out Jonathan Walters' opener and hand West Ham a share of the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Stoke at Upton Park on Monday night.

The Potters went ahead in the first half thanks to a brilliant set-piece which saw Walters make a perfectly-timed run from the far post to greet Glenn Whelan's ball with a clinical finish.

But Sam Allardyce's men came out fighting after the break and O'Brien proved the unlikely hero as he prodded home Gary O'Neil's cross after some solid work from Mohamed Diame.

The hosts saw more of the ball in the opening 10 minutes but Stoke showed their usual aerial threat on a couple of occasions, most notably when Ryan Shawcross angled a long ball forward which Peter Crouch knocked down into the path of the onrushing Charlie Adam, who could not keep his shot down.

Unsurprisingly Stoke's opening goal came from a set-piece but it was not scored in the manner usually associated with Tony Pulis' side.

George McCartney cleared the ball behind after 12 minutes and Whelan rolled the corner across the ground and into the area where a clever run from the far past allowed Walters to convert with a thumping effort past Jussi Jaaskelainen.

West Ham were struggling to break down a resolute Stoke defence that had been given something to protect thanks to Walters' early goal.

The visitors came within inches of doubling their lead seven minutes before half-time as Steven N'Zonzi fired in a shot from 25 yards that crashed off the crossbar and bounced just in front of the goalline with Jaaskelainen well beaten.

West Ham should have equalised within a minute of the start of the second half as Diame combined well with Modibo Maiga down the left flank to free McCartney.

The left-back's cross was perfect for Nolan but the Hammers' skipper put his header too close to Begovic.

The leveller did come only moments later as Diame's shot was charged down and O'Neil delivered from the right for O'Brien to convert from the middle of the goal.

West Ham may have missed out on the opportunity to move up to fifth in the Premier League but will have been pleased to take a deserved point after a revived second-half display, while Stoke remain 14th.
