live commentary

90+3 mins: Giroud races on to a ball over the top, the sub's about to lob the keeper but Federici gets a hand to it at full stretch... and that's FULL TIME! Arsenal have their first away win since their bonkers cup tie here in October, moving up to 5th in the Premier League, two points behind Spurs and Chelsea, while Reading stay bottom after six defeats on the spin. The superb Cazorla tucks the match ball under his bench jacket and hails the travelling fans. Thanks for following Orange's live commentary and for all your texts. A full report will follow...

90+2 mins: Podolski races down the left and tees up Giroud six yards out but it's a touch behind him and he can't get a shot on target.

90 mins: Three minutes added on at the Madejski.

88 mins: Reading break and McAnuff's nearly in but Vermaelen sticks a leg out and takes it off his toe as he's about to shoot from 12 yards!

86 mins: Podolski looks for Giroud's run towards the near post but it's intercepted and hoofed clear by the Royals.

85 mins: Another change for Arsenal as Giroud replaces Walcott, who's also had a fine shift for the Gunners and bagged a well-deserved goal.

Jess, IOW: "Ben...get real mate you aint won anythin for 7-years pal !!"

83 mins: Cazorla laps up the applause from the away fans as he's subbed for Coquelin. What a display from the Spaniard tonight!

80 mins: WALCOTT PUTS IT BEYOND DOUBT! Cazorla's at the heart of it again, setting Walcott up to jink past one in the box and slot home past Federici! That's any comeback put to bed.

77 mins: Tabb clatters Wilshere as they go for a header. The Arsenal man's not happy about it.

75 mins: Sub for Arsenal, Oxlade-Chamberlain makes way for Ramsey.

Will, Essex: "Why didn't Gervinho start????? Best Arsenal player :-)"

73 mins: Kebe's subbed straight after his goal for McCleary, before Szczesny fails to deal with a ball into the box but it's hacked away. Arsenal break and Federici beats Cazorla's rocket away!

Roy, Bury St Edmunds: "Looks like a 5-4 to me, but then I am a (not at all bitter) Spurs fan!"

72 mins: Wilshere's in the book for what looked like a 50-50 tackle with Gorkss.

71 mins: READING BAG ANOTHER! IT'S KEBE! Arsenal are caught flat-footed at the back and Kebe's slipped in to slot low past Szczesny! This is looking very interesting all of a sudden!

66 mins: LE FONDRE PULLS ONE BACK! Five minutes after coming on Tabb feeds him with a fine ball through the middle, Le Fondre rounding Szczesny and slotting home from close range! And that's my 4-0 bet blown. Thanks.

63 mins: Federici's got his work cut out and is again called on to deny Walcott who rattles one in from 12 yards.

Raza, London: "There seem to be quite a few anti-arsenal fans out there! Probably bitter Tottenham fans who know they won't be finishing above arsenal at the end of the season. Standard."

61 mins: Double sub for Reading as Le Fondre replaces Pogrebnyak and Robson-Kanu come son for Hunt.

60 mins: CAZORLA HAS HIS HAT-TRICK! Lovely build-up. Oxlade-Chamberlain, Wilshere and Podolski combine before the Pole crosses low for Cazorla to sweep home for the easiest of his three goals from six yards!

59 mins: Arsenal win a couple of quick corners, brave defending from Gorkss to get enough on Mertesacker's shot from the first, while the second comes to nothing.

57 mins: Cazorla's at the heart of more good build-up play from the Gunners to set up Walcott who has a dig from 22 yards. Not as much curl as he's like though, and it's harmlessly past the right stick.

54 mins: Pogrebnyak gets on the end of a through ball down the left and rattles a shot in which is beaten away by Szczesny but the flag's up anyway for offside.

51 mins: Cazorla so nearly gets his hat-trick! Mariappa hooks a cross off the line as it's about to dribble over with the Spaniard steaming in - if the diminuitive Cazorla can indeed 'steam' - and Federici gathers!

Daniel, London: "This is quite good for arsenal, but still... they cant even beat bradford."

48 mins: Kebe motors down the right and crosses for Hunt but Sagna shrugs him off in the box and brings the ball away on the opposite flank. Solid stuff.

46 mins: Reading get us restarted playing right to left with no subs to report. With two quid on 4-0 Arsenal at 25-1 I'm hoping for a fairly quiet second half...

Chris, Exeter: "Gd going 4 Arsenl-even if it is likely 2B a 'hollow' victory."

Phil, Warrington: "Oh dear can reading make a come back like against man u come on reading"

45+1 mins: "Boooooooooooooo." That'll tell you that it's half time. Arsenal are in top gear and have fifth place in their sights tonight. Keep your thoughts on the game coming via my name above, and join me for the second half when we'll see if Reading have any answer to the rampant visitors.

45 mins: Just the one minute added on at the Madejski as Reading break, Pogrebnyak sets up Kebe but instead of shooting from 16 yards he checks back and Arsenal can intercept!

43 mins: Kebe dinks a ball into the box but it's cut out by Mertesacker and Arsenal bring it away. Sagna crosses early from the right and Federici claws Oxlade-Chamberlain's effort off the line!

41 mins: Arsenal win another corner on the far side which is cleared first time. The Gunners are straight back in Reading's faces though, Gibbs and Cazorla opening them up to set up Podolski who sees his 15-yarder charged down.

Ben Knight, Salisbury: "Arsenal are playing so well at the moment. Cazorla, in my opinion has been the signing of the season."

39 mins: McAnuff is first in the book for a foul on Wilshere who needs a spot of treatment.

36 mins: "Is there a fire drill?" ask the Arsenal fans en masse as the Reading supporters head for the gangways. I'm assuming they're just off to beat the half-time pie queues, not heading home...

35 mins: CAZORLA STRIKES AGAIN! Walcott clips a cross in from the right, Podolski heads it back to Cazorla ten yards out who controls, turns and shoots into the bottom left corner! Boos ring out - Reading's defending is truly awful.

32 mins: CAZORLA DOUBLES THE LEAD! It comes from another ball in from the left as Podolski races for the line, chips a cross along the edge of the six-yard box where Cazorla stoops to head home amid more static Reading defending!

30 mins: Gibbs charges down Kebe's shot on the edge of the box and Vermaelen slides in to deny Pogrebnyak six yards out, the corner comes to nothing and Arsenal break. Walcott has two in support but his long ball across to Cazorla allows Reading time to get back, his cross being blocked and cleared.

27 mins: Panic in the Royals' box, Gibbs has a shot charged down, Reading can't clear, Federici then beats Podolski's shot into the ground away. The Aussie stopper's in for a busy shift.

25 mins: It's another corner to Arsenal in the far side, sent in with pace but cleared by Hunt. The Gunners have had 63 percent of the ball so far, and are showing no signs of letting up.

23 mins: Szczesny collects a high corner well under pressure from Hunt, taking a bit of a bash in the process. The pair are fine though.

21 mins: Walcott denied! He beats the offside trap to latch on to a ball over the top but is denied one-on-one by Federici who gets enough on the ball with a fine save to send it behind for a corner. A fruitless one at that.

18 mins: Cazorla fakes to shoot one way before doing so the other, watching his 22-yarder drop just past the right post. Arsenal aren't taking their foot off the gas after that goal.

16 mins: Plaudits to Marc in Bristol and Twiggy in Ross on Wye who both had Podolski down for 1st scorer. Did you pay the Reading defenders off?

14 mins: PODOLSKI FIRES THE GUNNERS AHEAD! Gibbs is released down the left and gets his cross past Kebe but Reading's defending in the middle is statuesque, three of them seemingly admiring Podolski as he controls on his chest on the run and fires low past Federici!

11 mins: Hunt goes close for the Royals! He gets up well in a crowded box to flash a header a yard off target from a right-wing corner.

9 mins: Again Reading pile forward and a melee ensues in the Arsenal box, but the flag's up for offside. Szczesny sends it upfield quickly and the Gunners break, but Podolski has a shot charged down on the edge of the box and Kebe brings it away. If the game continues like this, then my 0-0 prediction was a quid wasted!

7 mins: Arsenal win a free-kick out on the left which Walcott strikes from 25 yards, looking to curl it inside the far post. Federici dives but watches it sail past the woodwork.

4 mins: Reading aren't seeing much of the ball in the opening exchanges, besides chasing it around. They are at least closing the Gunners down quickly though.

2 mins: Reading attack in numbers and Kebe crosses but the Gunners clear, setting up a break down the right through Oxlade-Chamberlain, drawing a save from Federici from the edge of the box.

0 mins: The Gunners get us under way in the usual home strip playing right to left in the first half, Keep your predictions coming, and I'll keep weaving them in.

Julie, Eastbourne: "After last weeks shambolic performance im taking Reading to beat my useless Arsenal 2- 1"

Marc, Bristol: "I also done 3-1 Arsenal podolski 1st goal, and arteta 1st goal aswell."

Twiggy, Ross on Wye: "Arse 3-1 + the gorgeous but moderate Podolski 1st goal."

1920: Evening all, and welcome to Orange's live commentary on the Premier League clash at the Madejski, as the bottom-of-the-table Royals host the eighth-placed Gunners. Team news, and there's three changes apiece. For the hosts Pavel Pogrebnyak is back up front after two games out injured, while Jimmy Kebe and Kasper Gorkks also return. Francis Coquelin, Aaron Ramsey and Gervinho pay the price after the embarrassing Capital One Cup defeat at Bradford, with Mikel Arteta, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Theo Walcott being recalled. I'll bring you all the action live from 2000, but in the mean time use the box on the right to send in your match predictions and any bets you've got on tonight. Cash on 0-0 and 0-4 for me, which tells you I'm a) rubbish at betting and b) have no idea how this one's going to pan out.

Andrew, Croydon: "2-2 draw with an Arsenal equaliser in the 88th min. No bets though as Arsenal are getting as hard to predict as Man City."

Shane, London: "We (Arsenal) need a win tonight and it has to be by more than 2 goals and from open play! Walcott to score twice!"

Nathan, Weymouth: "yesterdays live games were so bad it makes this one a 5 goal thriller: 3-2 reading!"

match report

Santi Cazorla grabbed a hat-trick as Arsenal climbed up to fifth in the Premier League with a 5-2 win at bottom-of-the-table Reading.

The Gunners bounced back from their League Cup disappointment at Bradford in emphatic style with a convincing win at the Madejski Stadium.

Arsenal went ahead early on as Lukas Podolski lashed the ball home past Adam Federici after just 14-minutes.

Spanish star Cazorla then took control as he scored two goals in two-minutes just before half-time. The former Malaga man then cemented his claim for the match-ball with his third on the hour mark.

Reading then showed some real spirit as they battled back with two goals of their own with Adam Le Fondre and Jimmy Kebe both slotting home.

But the fairytale comeback never materialised as Theo Walcott - who started the game as a central striker - fired home Arsenal's fifth.
