FULL-TIME:Strange ending to the game but it's Spurs who take the win. They were knocking on the door all game and finally got through when Vertonghen smashed home Walker's free-kick. Thanks for following our coverage. Scroll down to see how the action unfolded.
90+7 mins:Michu has recovered from that knock and it looks like the officials have cleared everything up. Livermore is the only person who has been booked and he's on the bench. He must have got involved from the touchline.
90+5 mins:Late drama. Michu breaks the offside trap and tries to get on the end of a high ball. Lloris comes out and punches the ball clear, but flattens Michu in his follow through. It's not a foul but Mike Dean should stop the game as Michu is down with a head injury. However, the ref lets Spurs play on and they nearly score through Townsend, but he is denied by Tremmel's save. Dean then allows the physio to tend to Michu. Swansea's players are furious and it's all kicking off.
90+3 mins:A welcome return to the Tottenham team for Parker, who is making his first appearance of the season following a long lay-off with injury. He replaces Dembele for the final couple of minutes.
90 mins:Five minutes added on. That's not gone down well with the home fans.
88 mins:Superb chance for Defoe to wrap up the points. Sigurdsson's precise pass releases Defoe in on goal, but Tremmel comes out to close the angle and makes a crucial save.
86 mins:Final throw of the dice for Swansea as Graham replaces Dyer.
84 mins:Chico appears to be in a lot of distress. There was barely any contact in a collision with Walker but the Swansea defender can be heard screaming from the floor. My immediate reaction is that his leg must be poking the wrong way, but less than 30 seconds later, he's back on his feet and looks fine. What was all that about you big girl's blouse?
82 mins:Vertonghen fancies a double but his free-kick deflects over off Britton.
81 mins:Wonderful run by Townsend as he dances towards the Swans area before being brought down by Chico, who is shown a yellow card.
78 mins:Vertonghen is now doing his job at the other end as he heads clear Agustien's cross.
75 mins: SPURS BREAK THE DEADLOCK!Lift-off at the Lane! Walker swings over a free-kick from the right into the box. It flicks off the head of Davies and falls to VERTONGHEN, who sweeps his half-volley into the bottom corner from 12 yards. Clinical finish by the defender.
74 mins:Moore replaces Ki for Swansea.
72 mins:Adebayor is heading straight down the tunnel. Looks like he'll have Christmas off. Townsend is coming on.
71 mins:Adebayor is clutching his hamstring and needs treatment. Worrying sign for Spurs.
69 mins:Here's the first Spurs sub as former Swan Sigurdsson replaces Dempsey.
66 mins:Defoe has another effort on goal but lashes his latest attempt wide from 20 yards. That's four or five times he's done that this afternoon.
65 mins:Spurs have gone off the boil a bit and may think about making a change themselves soon. Swansea sub Agustien lofts over a cross towards Michu but Lloris is out quickly to gather.
61 mins:Swansea make the first sub of the game as De Guzman is replaced by Agustien.
58 mins:Dangerous break for the home side. Defoe brings the ball forward and picks out a free Walker on the right of the Swansea area. He should hit the target at the very least but spoons his first-time shot disgustingly wide.
55 mins:Another coming together between Dembele and De Guzman, but this time it's the Swansea player who commits a foul and he's booked for obstructing his opponent.
53 mins:Dembele is in the book for bringing down De Guzman. Spurs were short at the back so Dembele will take that for his team.
50 mins:Adebayor, who has been quiet today, glides through the middle and gets a shot away on the stretch. It's not the most lethal of strikes but Tremmel is still forced to tip it around his post.
48 mins:Terrific chance for the Swans. Routledge turns Gallas inside out down the left and dinks the ball across goal, but an unmarked Dyer fails to connect properly with his head at the near post. Spurs go straight up the other end but Defoe shoots wide from 20 yards.
46 mins:Sours get the second half underway. No subs at the break.
HALF-TIME:No goals at the Lane. Spurs have been the more attacking side but they haven't carved out clear chances. Defoe has had a few shots, but apart from saving Walker's 30-yard rocket, Tremmel hasn't had too many saves to make. Swansea have defended well and are looking to catch their opponents on the counter. Michu even tried his luck from near the halfway line - and he wasn't far off as his ambitious effort sailed just over the Spurs bar. Join us for the second half soon.
45 mins:Just one minute added on.
42 mins:Audacious attempt by Michu! The Spaniard steals the ball from Dembele and tries to lob Lloris from about 45 yards but his speculative effort drifts just over the bar. Lloris was scrambling back.
41 mins:Lennon cuts across Davies into the middle and tests Tremmel with a low shot which the keeper handles comfortably.
40 mins:Rare attempt on goal by Swansea as De Guzman fires just over from the corner of the box. Lloris was worried enough to dive.
38 mins:What a hit by Walker! A half-cleared cross comes out to the Spurs right-back, who catches the ball sweetly from 30 yards out but his piercing strike is blocked by Tremmel. The Swansea keeper just stood there and hoped for the best and the ball ricocheted off his shoulder.
35 mins:The Tottenham fans are starting to get a bit frustrated. Swansea have 10 men behind the ball and are proving difficult to break down. Spurs just need to get the ball over to the right because Lennon and Walker are running riot over there.
32 mins:Now Swansea enjoy an attack down their own right flank as Tiendalli swings in a cracking cross which just evades Routledge, who was unmarked in the middle.
29 mins:Another attack down the right sees Walker pull a dangerous cross into the middle, but Dempsey's first-time shot is blocked and Swansea survive.
25 mins:Spurs are getting plenty of joy down their right side. Lennon links up nicely with Sandro, but his cut-back towards Defoe is intercepted and Chico clears the danger.
23 mins:Lennon chips a cross into the middle of the box. Dempsey does well to out-jump Tiendalli, but there was no pace on Lennon's delivery and so Dempsey's header is easily saved by Tremmel.
20 mins:Defoe has another effort on goal but he sends his shot on the turn a few yards wide. Spurs are on top.
16 mins:Walker's free-kick catches Britton flush in the face in the middle of the Swansea wall. Samir Nasri take note.
15 mins:Good spell this for Spurs. Walker drives a cross into the six-yard box, but Adebayor fails to prod the ball goalwards and Swansea scramble it clear. Dyer is then booked for a foul on Dembele about 25 yards from his own goal.
13 mins:Chance for Defoe. Michu drops deep and loses possession to Dembele. The Belgian's neat back-heel finds Defoe in space inside the box, but the striker's shot is brilliantly blocked by Michu, who makes amends for his earlier mistake. Defoe's shot would have probably nestled into the bottom corner had Michu not got his body in the way.
12 mins:Defoe tests Tremmel for the first time after cutting inside his marker and then drilling a low shot straight at the keeper from just inside the box.
10 mins:Sandro has a pop from outside the box but he slices it horribly wide and the ball ends up going out for a throw. Who would ever predict him to score first?!
9 mins:Defoe breaks into the Swansea box and appeals for handball when his cross strikes Williams at close range but the officials aren't interested. The ball appeared to hit Williams on the chest. His arms were down by his side.
5 mins:Swansea force the first corner which is flicked across the face of the goal by Ki and steered off target by Chico at the far post. Decent start by the visitors.
3 mins:Full-back Tiendalli darts down the right but his cross is hooked clear on the edge of the Spurs box. "Sandro to score first 30-yard shot," predicts James from Woking.
0 mins:We're up and running at the Lane. Keep your comments coming in. Chris from Exeter says, "Spurs could struggle without their one-trick tumbling pony."
1326:Referee Mike Dean leads the players out of the tunnel. Spurs are obviously in their home kit, with Swansea wearing red tops, white shorts and green socks - a nice mix of Christmas colours to celebrate the festive season.
1312:The team sheets have been handed in. Tottenham make just one change from the side that were beaten by Everton as Kyle Walker replaces Steven Caulker in defence. Gareth Bale remains sidelined, while Jermain Defoe starts up front with Emmanuel Adebayor. Swansea make two changes from their win over Middlesbrough in the Capital One Cup quarter-finals as Ashley Williams and Ki Sung-Yeung replace Garry Monk and Itay Shechter. Michu, the joint top scorer in the Premier League with 12 goals, leads the Welsh side's line.
1300:Welcome to the Lane for today's lunchtime Premier League clash. Spurs can climb back into the top four with victory here over a Swansea side who have lost only one of their last nine games. Team news in a tick...

Tottenham have leapfrogged Everton into fourth place in the Premier League following a 1-0 home win over Swansea on Sunday.
Spurs were frustrated for large periods of the match at White Hart Lane before Belgian defender Jan Vertonghen clinched the points in the 75th minute.
Swansea began the match on the front foot, although Hugo Lloris was untroubled in Spurs' goal and it was the home side who threatened first through in-form Jermain Defoe.
The England international latched onto Emmanuel Adebayor's through-ball, only for Gerhard Tremmel to make the save from his right-footed shot while Michu made the block to deny the striker after he had initially conceded possession.
Adebayor's close-range effort was then blocked by Chico from Kyle Walker's cross, Defoe's turn and shot drifted wide of Tremmel's goal while Walker's long-range special was straight at the Swansea keeper.
The Swans did offer a threat of their own when Jonathan de Guzman lashed a shot just over Lloris' goal while Michu was close to catching out the French keeper from distance after Mousa Dembele lost possession.
Swansea came within a whisker of getting their noses in front minutes into the second half, but Nathan Dyer could not hit the target after Wayne Routledge did well to better Gallas and play in a teasing cross.
Adebayor then saw a long-range effort parried for a corner by Tremmel while Defoe's left-footed strike in the 66th minute was always curling away from the far post.
Tottenham suffered an injury blow when Adebayor hobbled from the field of play, although it was unclear whether the former Manchester City and Arsenal man had suffered an ankle knock or hamstring strain.
The breakthrough finally came in the 75th minute when the unmarked Vertonghen guided home Walker's free-kick past Tremmel into the far corner of the net.
Tremmel made a fine save in the closing stages to deny Defoe a second for Tottenham, although the missed chance did not cost Andre Villas-Boas' side as they secured all three points after seeing out five minutes of injury time.
