live commentary

90+4 mins: That's full time! Roy Hodgson's unbeaten record (shootouts aside) goes up in smoke thanks to a brilliant performance by Ibrahimovic. England were leading with 22 minutes to go, and were good value for it too, but Ibra had other ideas. That fourth goal was something else! Thanks for following and for all your comments - a full report will follow...

90+2 mins: This ref has let all sorts go tonight, but not Ibrahimovic taking his shirt off in celebration of a stunning fourth goal on the opening night of a new stadium. He gets booked for that. Pathetic.

90+1 mins: A FANTASTIC FOURTH FOR IBRAHIMOVIC! Hart comes out of his box to head a ball clear, and Ibra bicycle kicks home from 25 yards. Yes, you read that right. Genius.

90 mins: There'll be four minutes added on in Stockholm, which despite the heroics of Ibrahimovic is about as lively as a Women's Institute meeting.

89 mins: Another sub for Sweden as all momentum disappears - Wernbloom for Ranegie.

87 mins: Wilshere's in the book for a body-check on Ibrahimovic.

86 mins: One sub apiece - the much-talked-about Zaha replacing Sterling, while Larsson is off for Jansson.

84 mins: HAT-TRICK FOR IBRAHIMOVIC! It had to be! Hart should be saving that though - the free-kick's low, through the wall and into the far corner.

83 mins: Free-kick to Sweden 30 yards out and the hat-trick-hunting Ibrahimovic is over it...

81 mins: A peach of a pass by Huddlestone sets Welbeck free down the left but he can't get enough pace on his cross and it's cut out. England soon win the ball back and Osman has a sniff from 16 yards, but Iskasson makes the stop.

78 mins: IBRAHIMOVIC HAULS SWEDEN LEVEL! Sub Shawcross switches off and Ibra leaves him for dead, Svensson picks his run out with a lovely ball over the top which he takes on the chest and rattles home leaving Hart without a prayer! Stunning run and volley.

75 mins: Triple sub for England - Shawcross, Huddlestone and Jenkinson coming on for Caulker, Gerrard and Johnson.

74 mins: Double sub for the hosts, Granqvist and Lustig being replaced by Antonsson and Sana.

72 mins: Johnson plays it safe heads Lutig's cross behind for a corner. It's headed clear to Elm, but his 25-yarder is way wide.

70 mins: Hart plucks a cross from Kacaniklic from the air and booms his kick upfield to Welbeck. England are looking comfortable.

68 mins: Granqvist is first in the book after a lunge on Wilshere - more for dissent though after showing his frustration at the free-kick going against him.

66 mins: Johnson gets to the line down the right and clips a cross in, it's headed clear as far as Gerrard who has a shy from 25 yards, sending it five yards wide.

63 mins: The ball's slipped through to Ibrahimovic down the right of the box, he fends off Caulker - ripping the England man's shirt in the process - and finds space to shoot but the finish is woeful by his standards. Way off target.

60 mins: Kallstrom makes way for veteran Svensson for Sweden, while Hodgson makes a double sub - Young and Cleverely being replaced by Sturridge and Wilshere.

59 mins: Hart doesn't get much on a punch which falls to Larsson, but he slices his first-timer way over from the edge of the box. Activity on the England bench...

56 mins: Great swerving drive by Gerrard from 35 yards after sustained England pressure, beaten away by Iskasson. England keep their foot on the gas though. Has Ibrahimovic even had a touch this half?

53 mins: Osman forces Isaksson into a smart stop at the right post. Corner comes to nothing though. It's still deathly quiet - as housewarmings go, you'd have sacked it off and gone to the local by now. At least it's looking positive for England.

51 mins: Osman wins a corner on the far side which Gerrard whips in but it's cleared with little danger. England have been in charge since the break, and the pitch seems to be behaving itself after a good forking at half-time.

49 mins: What a ball. Baines rattles a fantastic delivery from the left which is just too fast for Welbeck to head in for his brace, Osman steering it into the side-netting at the back stick!

46 mins: England get the second half started playing right to left with no changes for Hodgson's boys. What a refreshing change for a friendly! Straight swap at left-back for Sweden, Martin Olsson making way for Safari - it's a 'big game' for him. BIG GAME! SAFARI! I'm here all week, try the fish.

Alan Pollard, Shaftesbury: "Considering what Roy is achieving with these fringe players, he could win us the World Cup, if he was allowed to."

45+1 mins: That's half time! What a strange, subdued first 45 under the roof in this new gaff. Ibrahimovic fired high into the net to give the hosts the lead, Welbeck smashed Young's cross home to level before Caulker bagged a debut goal from close range to give England the edge at the break. Other than that it has been scrappy, bobbly and - truth be told - a wee bit dull. Keep your thoughts coming via the box on the right, and join me for the second half at 2035.

45 mins: Just the one minute added on in Stockholm.

43 mins: Larsson bends in a promising free-kick from way out on the left, Ranegie gets his head to it eight yards out but it's straight up in the air before England clear.

40 mins: Ibrahimovic denied! He shoots from eight yards but a touch from Caulker takes it over for a corner. Fruitless through - it's hooked all the way over and out for a goal kick.

38 mins: DEBUT GOAL FOR CAULKER! Gerrard bends the free-kick in to the back stick, Caulker takes a chance and bundles home from close range!

37 mins: Sterling's bundled over by Martin Olsson - YET AGAIN - for a free-kick to England. Gerrard's over it.

35 mins: WELBECK LEVELS FOR ENGLAND! A great ball out left by Sterling finds Young. He gets round his marker and provides the perfect cross for Welbeck to crash the ball home from four yards!

34 mins: Good work by Young wins a corner for England down the left. After being cleared it's eventually hooked back in over the top by Gerrard for Cahill, but as he meets it in the six-yard box the flag's up for offside.

33 mins: Confusion in the England box as Cahill ducks out of the way of a high ball which bounces off Hart's leg. Ibrahimovic squares to Ranegie who has an unguarded net to aim for from 12 yards, but it must take a bobble off one of those pesky divots because he sidefoots it way over the bar!

Mark Manc: "One upfront the roy way pathetic ive got more chance of winning a world cup cahill, johnson not world class defenders so poor im misding im a celeb for this crap"

30 mins: A spell of Swedish pressure ends with Ibrahimovic pulling a shot wide from the edge of the box.

28 mins: Half chance for Ranegie! He throws himself at a ball from the right by Larsson but Cahill does just enough to stop him getting a shot in from eight yards.

26 mins: Welbeck holds the ball up well in the box, lays it off to Johnson who drags a shot across the box, Cleverly gambles and sticks out a leg, he's onside but stabs it wide of the left-hand upright! Golden chance.

24 mins: Sterling's dumped on the turf by Olsson again. He's had a bumpy ride so far.

22 mins: Well, that goal has sent most of my bets tonight down the gurgler, though I've still got Sweden HT England FT in the mix.

20 mins: IBRAHIMOVIC OPENS THE SCORING! Sterling loses out in midfield and Sweden counter, Olsson crosses low from the left, Ibrahimovic shoots first time from 12 yards, the effort's blocked by the sliding Caulker and the Swede gets a slice of luck as it breaks straight back to him, allowing him to fire high into the net past Hart at the second time of asking. Fitting, on the first game in the new stadium.

18 mins: Welbeck's clipped cynically by Granqvist and he looks to break down the left flank. No card though. It is a friendly after all.

16 mins: England win a free kick out on the left which Gerrard bends in over the top. Cahill stretches to meet it four yards out, I don't *think* he gets a touch and it's through to Iskasson. Anything on it and it was surely in.

14 mins: Sweden concede a cheap corner on the near side which Gerrard takes, but it's headed clear. Really scrappy stuff so far.

12 mins: Young's picked out by Gerrard in the box but he sets off on his run a smidge too early and the flag's thrust up for offside.

10 mins: England's passing has been undone by some dodgy divots in midfield. The newly-laid pitch was cutting up in badly during training, and it seems to be doing the same tonight. Sure, it's the same for both sides, but it won't make for an attractive night's entertainment on the goggle box.

Peter, Belfast: "think its gonna be a very good game i can see a sweded win tho 3-1 to sweded looks a very strong side and to much experience for englands young players"

8 mins: First half-chance falls to England as Osman take a return ball from Welbeck and has a dig but it's weak and easy for Isaksson between the sticks.

7 mins: England pass the ball around slickly down the left, looking for an opening. Young eventually gives the ball away under pressure though.

5 mins: Sterling exacts revenge on Olsson with a nifty turn which sends him sprawling.

4 mins: Indoor games produce a strange atmosphere - plenty of chatter's audible and not much singing. Like when you go to a gig and they play a song that the drummer wrote.

2 mins: Sterling's down in pain after getting a study knee from Martin Olsson. Welcome to Stockholm.

1 mins: Slight misunderstanding between Cahill and Hart as the keeper's a touch tardy coming for an Ibrahomovic through ball, but the defender gets it away.

0 mins: Sweden get their housewarming party under way with the roof closed, playing right to left in their usual red 'n' blue number, England all in white. Keep your predictions coming, always a pleasure to share them.

1924: Blimey - TWO verses of God Save The Queen! Nobody's singing the second one. And they all clapped after the first.

1915: I thought ITV's coverage would start at 7pm, I was wrong. Emmerdale has just taken up 15 minutes of my life which I'll never get back. Aaaaanyhow... Stevie G looks relaxed in the bowels of the stadium talking about his imminent 100th cap. He gives himself a "7 out of 10" for his England career so far. A 10 would be nice tonight, especially as I've got a fiver on him as first goalscorer.

Robbie, Isle of Wight"Nice to see some new faces 3-1 England"

1852: Evening all, and welcome to Orange's live commentary on England's friendly against Sweden in Stockholm. England captain Steven Gerrard wins his 100th cap after being passed fit after a knee scan. Boss Roy Hodgson has named seven uncapped players in a youthful side, with three of those - Raheem Sterling, Leon Osman and Steven Caulker - starting. Wilfried Zaha, Ryan Shawcross, Fraser Forster and Carl Jenkinson are on the bench, although Hodgson is limited to six substitutes. Gerrard and Sterling are joined in the side by Liverpool colleague Glen Johnson, plus Man United trio Tom Cleverley, Danny Welbeck and Ashley Young. Joe Hart starts in goal with Gary Cahill and Leighton Baines also included, while Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger will be relieved that Jack Wilshere is only on the bench after recently returning from a long-term knee injury. I'll bring you live updates from 1930, but in the mean time feel free to send in your predictions and any bets you've got on the game by scribbling in the box on the right.

match report

Zlatan Ibrahimovic produced a stunning four-goal display to turn the game around and give Sweden a 4-2 win over England.

Ibrahimovic had put the home side in front in Stockholm after 20 minutes but goals from Danny Welbeck and Steven Caulker on debut gave England the lead before the break.

But the Sweden skipper found space to volley in an equaliser before blasting home a free-kick from distance to restore the home side's lead on the opening night at the new national stadium.

And the Paris St Germain striker saved the best until last - an outrageous long-range overhead volley after Hart had failed to clear with his head.

England began well but were caught out on the break when Martin Olsson tackled Raheem Sterling and Sweden were able to break. Caulker blocked Ibrahimovic's initial effort but the captain toe-poked in the rebound.

But 10 minutes before the interval England were level through Welbeck after a neat move that started when debutant Leon Osman won the ball in his own half.

Fellow new boy Sterling then threaded a pass through to Ashley Young on the left flank and the winger beat his man to cross for Welbeck to volley home at the far post.

Within minutes England were ahead. Sterling won a free-kick and Steven Gerrard, on his 100th appearance for England, curled in a cross for Caulker to slot the ball away.

In the second half, England handed further debuts to Ryan Shawcross, Carl Jenkinson and eventually Wilfried Zaha - making it six in all - as well as giving a run-out to the returning Jack Wilshere.

But the night was all about Ibrahimovic as he delivered a one-man exhibition of world-class forward play.
