live commentary

90+3 mins: That's FULL TIME! Spurs are in the last 32 thanks to Adebayor's cool finish, Dempsey's bullet header which went in off the keeper and Defoe's classy dink. Lazio have won the group but AVB's men join Liverpool and Newcastle in the draw in a fortnight's time. Thanks for following Orange's live commentary, a full report will follow.

90+2 mins: Christodoulopoulos crosses deep to Fornaroli but his header plops harmlessly wide.

90 mins: There's three minutes added on at a relieved White Hart Lane.

89 mins: Spurs win a corner down the left, Sigurdsson meets it at the near post but it's a crowded six-yard box and he can't get it on target, ballooning his effort way over.

88 mins: Third sub for Spurs, Lennon being replaced by Livermore.

86 mins: Walker comes inside, heads for the line and cuts back to Defoe but it's on him in a flash and he can't dig a shot of any accuracy out - it's a couple of yards wide of the right-hand stick.

83 mins: DEFOE WRAPS IT UP! Lennon scurries towards the box, slips the ball through to Defoe, the keeper comes to block and Defoe dinks it beautifully over him into the net! Superb finish. Sheer class.

81 mins: By the way, Uefa are chalking Spurs' second goal down as an og against keeper Karnezis.

80 mins: Second change for Spurs, Dempsey making way for Sigurdsson.

78 mins: Another change for the Greeks, Petropoulos on for Toche. The relief around the Lane after that goal is tangible (not literally, Jamie).

76 mins: SPURS ARE SURELY GOING THROUGH NOW! Walker curls a free-kick in from the right, DEMPSEY rockets a header onto the bar which comes down, hits keeper Karnezis and goes in!

74 mins: AVB's making his first change, Carroll making way for Dembele. Lazio, remember, look like having the group sewn up. If Spurs lose, they're out.

70 mins: Spurs should be behind! Naughton makes a hash of clearing a left-wing cross and Toche's inches away from prodding home from close range with Friedel beaten! As it is the ball dribbles agonisingly past the left-hand post!

69 mins: Spyropoulos quickly follows him into the book for a blatant block on Lennon as he looks like getting past him. Patchy period of the game here.

66 mins: Naughton's first in the Polish ref's book for an awkward challenge on Sissoko down the right flank.

63 mins: Easy catch for Friedel from a left-wing cross and he bowls out to Naughton. Spurs are keeping the tempo high.

60 mins: Change for Panathinaikos as Christodoulopoulos comes on for Pape. Daniel Levy looks a touch nervous in the posh seats.

57 mins: Panathinaikos are oozing confidence on the ball now and attacking with extra oomph. This could be a nervy ride.

54 mins: ZECA LEVELS FOR THE GREEKS! He escapes marker Naughton and gets on the end of a deep cross from the left to head past Friedel! Spurs are one goal away from going out!

53 mins: 4-0 Lazio now, who have this group wrapped up.

51 mins: Panathinaikos are down to ten men at the mo as Vintra's off having treatment on what looks like an ankle injury.

49 mins: Defoe hits the post! He's slipped in by Dempsey down the left of the box, spins off the defender and shoots towards the near post but it comes off the woodwork and away to safety for Panathinaikos!

46 mins: Spurs get the second half started playing left to right with no subs to report, 45 minutes from a place in the last 32.

45 mins: That's half time! Spurs look comfortable and are on course for second spot in the group, but we've said that before and watched them throw away leads when games should have been put to bed. Join me at 2105 for the second half to see if they can wrap this thing up.

44 mins: Great one-two between Adebayor and Carroll into the box but Triantafyllopoulos is on hand to deny the striker - corner ball. Vertonghen wins the header but there's nobody on hand to hammer the knock-down home. It's another corner though, but a fruitless one straight to keeper Karnezis.

42 mins: 3-0 Lazio now. Cakewalk.

41 mins: Adebayor sends in a deep cross from the right flank for Defoe, Seitaridis putting behind for a corner. Dempsey sends it in towards the near post but it cleared. Spurs keep the pressure on but the ref blows for handball by Dempsey as he leans into it, trying to control it on the run.

38 mins: Fine run by Lennon down the right, he clips a ball in towards Dempsey at the near post but Seitaridis heads to Defoe who has a crack on the half-volley - waaaaaay over the bar though.

36 mins: Lazio are 2-0 up now, so it's looking increasingly likely that Spurs would go through in second spot. Long way to go yet though!

34 mins: Dempsey, Adebayor and Lennon link up well to work the ball into the middle for Sandro, he has a crack from 22 yards but it's high and wide.

31 mins: Adebayor heads for the box, squares to Defoe, he touches it into the path of Dempsey who blazes over from 18 yards! Ah - flag's up for offside against Defoe anyway.

29 mins: ADEBAYOR STROKES SPURS AHEAD! Dempsey threads a peach of a ball through to the striker who takes it in his stride and ushers it past Karnezis into the right corner!

26 mins: Mazy run by Adebayor through midfield and out to the left wing, he then looks to get round the right-back to the line but finds himself crowded out.

23 mins:The eagle-eyed among you will have seen on the right that Lazio have edged ahead against Maribor, so if it stays as it is Spurs would go through in second spot.

22 mins: Superb ball in by Seitaridis from the free-kick - not sent in to the middle but ushered down the side for Toche who hits it first time straight at Friedel. It was such a good delivery he had time to take a touch, and will rue the fact he didn't.

21 mins: Vertonghen pulls back Sissoko in midfield after a wayward pass is nicked off him - plenty of catcalls from the noisy away fans but no card.

18 mins: Spurs win a free-kick 22 yards out, off to the left. Walker strikes it low and he's banking on the wall jumping. It doesn't, and the danger's cleared.

15 mins: Pape stretches to get a tackle in on Carroll and they're both moving a tad gingerly in the aftermath. Should both be OK to run it off though.

12 mins: Adebayor finds space to cross from the near side but it's easily cut out. Lennon then tries to clip a ball in but yet again it's mopped up with no bother. Hope this isn't going to be a theme.

9 mins: Spurs win a corner on the far side after a decent run by Walker, but Carroll's ball in isn't the best and the danger's easily cleared.

Daniel, Liverpool - "Spurs 3-0 easy"; Chris, Bridgend - "Spurs to win 3-1"; Tom, Sheffield - "Spurs win 2-1"; Bob Taylor, Spain - "Spurs to win 2-1"

6 mins: Vertonghen cuts out a low cross from the left and Spurs bring it away. Comfortable for the hosts so far.

3 mins: Spurs are seeing more of the ball in the opening exchanges, stroking it round the back and happy to take their time. Carroll eventually bids to set Walker free down the left, but it's over-hit and out for a throw.

0 mins: Panathinaikos get us under way at the Lane playing left to right in their all-green number. Only two predictions so far - are you all out building snowmen?

1930: Evening all, welcome to Orange's live commentary on Spurs' final Europa League clash in Group J, with Andre Villas-Boas' side needing just a point tonight to qualify for the knockout stages. Panathinaikos are two points behind Spurs in third place and need to win to advance to the next round. Team news, and AVB has handed Brad Friedel his first start in almost a month as Spurs make four changes to the side which beat Fulham at the weekend, recalling Kyle Walker, Emmanuel Adebayor and midfielder Tom Carroll. Gareth Bale and Michael Dawson are out with hamstring injuries. I'll bring you live commentary from 2005, but in the mean time click my name above to send in your match predictions and any bets you've got on. My accumulator already looks down the pan tonight - THANKS NAPOLI.
