live commentary

FULL-TIME: Mark Clattenburg's last blast of the whistle confirms something we knew ever since Man United created their first chance within 40 seconds of the match. The Red Devils are sailing through to the next round and can look forward to facing this vulnerable Fulham side next weekend in the Premier League. Thanks for joining Orange's coverage. Stick around for the full-match report.

90 mins: Just two extra minutes added on before the ref puts the Fulham fans out of their misery.

87 mins: Rodallega drags a volley wide of the left post before Hughes does really well to cut out Valencia's clever cross with the outside of the boot.

Dave, York -"could this be the start of a come back?" (I'm going to stick my neck out here Dave and say...no.)

83 mins: Mr Clattenburg denies Rooney his brace after believing that Hernandez backed into his marker during the build-up. I think he's being kind to Fulham there. I didn't see much in it myself.

80 mins: Berbatov tries to create something special with a mazy run inside the opposition half. He eventually loses out to Jones and gives up immediately. Not one breath wasted from Berba.

77 MINS: CONSOLATION FOR FULHAM! I'm just as shocked as you! Karagounis takes a corner from the right and HUGHES peels away from Rooney at the near post to head in. That won't do much to lighten up his miserable night.

75 mins: Hernandez, eyeing his first hat-trick in Man United colours, curls one just wide of the right post.

73 mins: It turns out that this game is on television again next Saturday evening when the two teams meet in the Premier League. I'm the sure the Fulham fans cannot wait!

70 mins: With this game done and dusted, at least there's some subs to type about. Anderson and Giggs come off for Kagawa and Valencia, meaning van Persie can put his feet up. For Fulham, Ruiz trudges off for Dejagah.

66 MINS: BRACE FOR THE LITTLE PEA! Not the best goal HERNANDEZ has scored by any stretch of the imagination! Giggs finds him in acres of space and then the Mexican's shot inside the area takes a wicked deflection off Hughes and plops into the net. Schwarzer completely wrong-footed!

64 mins: As the Fulham forward line argue between themselves as another attack falls flat, Man United are looking to add further pain but Hernandez moves a fraction offside when he's played through.

60 mins: Scholes is coming on now to replace Carrick who has enjoyed a resurgence of late. Fulham also make a change with Duff making way for Rodallega.

58 mins: Duff attempts a left-footed strike from the edge of the area but it's always curling away from goal.

55 mins:Fulham try to muster something meaningful going forward but Berbatov ends up just passing straight to Evra. I feel sorry for those Fulham fans who have travelled up to watch this.

52 MINS: MAKE THAT THREE! Fulham are falling to pieces! The defence fail to clear Nani's cross and HERNANDEZ gets in on the goalscoring act with a cool finish into the bottom-left corner from seven yards.

50 MINS: 2-0 TO THE RED DEVILS! In the blink of an eye, Anderson threads through a perfect pass to Rooney who cuts inside of his left and drives it wonderfully inside the right post! Man United are officially cruising now.

Dave, York - "Come on Fulham"

48 mins: Berbatov and Nani both fire off speculative shots before Man United begin to dominate once more. Rooney is once again denied deep inside the area to continue his frustrating evening.

45 mins:As the drizzle begins to descend on Old Trafford, Fulham kick-off having made one change with Karagounis coming on for Baird.

HALF-TIME: Man United's minds should be on who they want in the next round after dominating the first-half, but as it stands, they go into a break with a narrow advantage which could come back to haunt them later on in the match. Can they get the job done in the second half? Join me again soon to find out!

45 mins: One minute of time added on as a handball from Ruiz brings a Fulham attack through the centre to an abrupt end.

42 mins: Man United are pressing now for what would be a very comfortable two-goal lead but Hangeland meets Giggs's right-footed cross and Riise blocks off Nani's path soon after.

39 mins: Giggs is twice denied by the Fulham defence on the edge of the area. He feels his should have had a free-kick on the first instance but the ref isn't interested.

36 mins: Carrick is caught napping on the ball near his own area, causing a few moans from the crowd as Ruiz comes to swoop in. The Red Devils, who are playing a dangerous game here by sitting on this slender lead, eventually hack it away.

33 mins: Riether has De Gea scrambling across his goal after his thunderbolt of a shot fizzes *just* wide of the post. "Man United to win 2-1, I'm a neutral but I hope United win to give Sir Alex some respite from the all criticism he gets!" says Sir Alex's best mate, Daniel from Anglesey.

30 mins: Rooney could have had at least two already! This time he latches onto Giggs's low cross from the left but Schwarzer is literally on hand to deny him.

28 mins: There was an alarming amount of space between Man United's central defenders as Fulham launch a hopeful attack. Smalling and Jones did look vulnerable for a second but luckily for them, Kacaniklic triggers the offside flag.

25 mins: Nani scuppers two decent chances in a matter of moments. The first is a quick snapshot which booms into Schwarzer's chest. Then, he curls one wide of the right post with an unmarked Rooney looking less than impressed.

21 mins:Man United's misfortune continues soon after as Rooney rattles the crossbar from close range. Credit has to go to Schwarzer here who does well to get a strong hand to it.

19 mins: Man United should have another penalty, but they don't! Duff clearly uses an arm to cut out a lofted pass into the area but the ref Mark Clattenburg fails to spot it! Absolutely baffling decision.

18 mins: Jones does well to keep in Rooney's long corner on the right wing, but he then puts too much power into his cross with red shirts unmarked. Jason, a Liverpool fan from Kent, begrudgingly admits, "Man u to win this 3-1 hate to have to say it."

15 mins: A misjudgement from Riise allows Nani to saunter into the Fulham area. He could easily square it to a team-mate but instead hits tamely at Schwarzer.

12 mins: Fulham earn a corner over on the left-hand side but Duff's delivery is easily cleared at the near post. A confident Shaun in Louth texts to say, "United to rack up a rugby score tonight."

9 mins: A Man United attack looks threatening down the right wing until Rooney spoons a cross intended for Hernandez high into the already-satisfied home fans.

7 mins: Fulham get inside the opposition half for the first time and it results in Riether playing a teasing cross from the right. Berbatov is slow to react it though and the ball is eventually cleared.

5 mins: This could get pretty ugly very quickly indeed as Rooney, Nani and Giggs all look in the mood to cause havoc. Fulham look there for the taking.

2 MINS: MAN UNITED AHEAD! Only just though! GIGGS bends the ball to Schwarzer's left and it crashes into the net despite the Aussie getting a glove to it!

1 MIN: PENALTY TO MAN UNITED! What a dismal start for the Cottagers, basically allowing Man United to surge forward! Rooney's shot deflects behind and from the resulting corner, the ball clearly hits Hughes' hand when he challenges with Smalling. A stonewall penalty. Giggs will take....

0 mins: We're off! Man United in their red shirts get us underway. Big outsiders Fulham are also donning their home kits

1700: Hello and welcome to Orange's live coverage of Man United's FA Cup fourth-round match against Martin Jol's Fulham. The hosts make six changes with Smalling, Nani, Anderson, Giggs, Hernandez and most notably, Rooney all returning. The Cottagers make three changes with Riise and Baird coming back in defence and Kacaniklic is fancied ahead of Dejagah.
