Mancunian rocker Liam Gallagher has revealed that his new band will not perform as Oasis - because he never liked the name in the first place.
Lead songwriter Noel Gallagher's departure from the group in August 2009 ended the hitmakers' run together but Liam has since confirmed that he will continue to work with former bandmates Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock, although they will not be known as Oasis.
He told XFM: "No, it's not Oasis, that was a s*** name anyway, I'm glad to see the back of it.
"There's a name that we're digging at the moment, but we're going to get on with the music and see how it goes."
