Electro-synth duo The Ting Tings have played down speculation that Jay-Z is set to feature on their new album.

The 'That's Not My Name' two-piece are currently recording Kunst - the follow-up to their No.1 selling debut album We Started Nothing - in Berlin, and rumours that they are due to collaborate with Jay-Z have persisted since they signed to the same management company as the 'Empire State of Mind' star.

One of half of The Ting Tings, Jules De Martino, was quoted by Contact Music as saying: "We're seven tracks in and we haven't needed anyone yet.

"But we have got to know Jay-Z a little bit better. We're recording it ourselves at the moment."

Lead singer Katie White admitted they would be more likely to work with artists they are familiar with: "There is a band called the Tom Tom Club that we love and we already spoke with them. We know them now and we might do a collaboration."
