No. 1 - Alex Higgins: An unsurprising occupant of top spot. Throughout his career, Higgins always had alcohol problems, but it was in 1986 that the freefall began in snooker. At a doping test at the UK Championship, he headbutted tournament director Paul Hatherell. Amazingly, he was banned from just five tournaments and fined £12,000. In 1990, he famously threatened to have Dennis Taylor shot. He was reprimanded and, in the aftermath, punched the tournament director, for which he received a one-year suspension.
