Welbeck is one option of a relatively inexperienced series of strikers. He's certainly enjoyed a breakthrough season for Manchester United, forming a fruitful partnership with Rooney which can only enhance his chances of making the final 23.

Grant Holt Only one englishman has only scored more premier league goals than holt which is rooney we love u GRANT HOLT

I would put Holt in the squad and use him as a super sub. If England needed a goal in the last 20 minutes, few strikers are more likely to pressure the defence and force the goal. Grant Holt may not play pretty, but he gets results.
