August: The yo-yo battle between Donald and McIlroy for the world No.1 spot was finally decided in the Northern Irishman's favour with a stunning victory at the PGA Championship. It was virtually a no contest as he headed closest challenger David Lynn by eight strokes, the largest winning margin in the event's history. Other notable wins during August saw Keegan Bradley and Nick Watney win the WGC-Bridgestone Invitational and The Barclays respectively.
