Special mention award: That surely has to go to tyre supplier Pirelli, who were asked to come up with rubber compounds that could create all manner of results. They delivered on that promise as seven different drivers won the opening seven races of the season for the first time in F1's rich history. Such anomalies died down in the latter part of the season but it still led to a nice uncertainty to some races in stark contrast to the inevitability of 2011.
