The 04/05 season was something of a landmark year for Lampard. He scored four times in the Champs Lge and 15 goals overall as Chelsea reached the semi-finals in Europe before losing 5-3 on aggregate to Monaco. It led to Lampard winning the Football Writers' Association Footballer of the Year award.
