Minna Wilson - Let's not pretend mothers are always perfect role models. We'll round things off with a bonkers mother who took it personally when watching her son Tony Wilson box in October 1989. As her son took sustained repeated blows on the ropes at the hands of Steve McCarthy, she entered the ring and started battering him with a high-heeled shoe. McCarthy was hospitalised with a head cut and Wilson, who had been taking a pounding, was amazingly awarded the win as his opponent was unable to continue after the shoe attack.

We were at a schoolboys moto cross event with my son who rode. One of the fathers was caught by the officials beating his son for not winning the previous race! He had been seen at other events doing the same and warned him, this time he was banned from all UK events, Unfortunately as his father drove him to events the son also stopped riding, and spoilt his enjoyment of competing.
