Whatever 24-year-old Australian swimmer Kenrick Monk goes on to achieve, he will always be remembered for the lame excuse he offered for fracturing his elbow in 2011. After claiming he had been the victim of a hit and run, a brief police investigation proved he had in fact just fallen off his skateboard. He was threatened with three years in jail for lying, but the police decided not to pursue charges.
