A couple of years ago, Luis Moreno faced chants of 'murderer' after kicking an injured owl that landed on the pitch in Colombia. Pereira player Moreno argued he had only done it to make the owl - a good luck charm for the fans of the home team Junior Barranquilla - fly away. However, it didn't work and the stricken animal died just 48 hours later. There was a national outcry and the player had to go on national TV to make an official apology.
